XYZprinting taking on industrial market with 5 new 3D printers
Nov 9, 2017 | By Benedict
3D printing company XYZprinting, known for its user-friendly Da Vinci range of desktop 3D printers, is branching out into the professional sphere with five new 3D printers, including a laser sintering system, a full-color binder jetting printer, and three DLP machines.
November is always a busy time in the 3D printing calendar. Not because the industry cares especially about Christmas presents, but perhaps because of the placement of certain major industry showcases, where the best in the business are expected to demonstrate new wares.

The printer offers high color resolution (1600 dpi) and a vertical building speed of up to 18 mm per hour during full-capacity printing. It also includes a removable build tray and advanced BCPware slicing software, and will be available in the first quarter of 2018 as part of an early access program.
MfgPro230 xS Laser Sintering 3D printer
Also available as part of the early access program is XYZprinting’s MfgPro230 xS, a CO2 Selective Laser Sintering 3D printer that lets users print in various plastic materials to produce functional engineering parts. Layers of thermoplastic material are fused with a laser, producing 3D printed parts with the mechanical properties of molded products.
MfgPro230 xS print speeds can reach one liter per hour, and the printer also helps “shorten design verification processes,” letting businesses realize product concepts during the design and development stage in a shorter time and at a lower cost.

In addition to its binder jetting and SLS offerings, XYZprinting will also release a trio of DLP 3D printers, all of which are expected to become available in Q2 2018.

The PartPro100 xP, which costs $2,399, is a high-resolution desktop 3D printer capable of printing with a range of resins.
The DentPro100 xP, at $2,699, will be marketed at the dental and medical markets, being compatible with biomedical resins.
Currently, the CastPro100 xP, also available for $2,699, is the only 3D printer of the DLP trio to have been given its own page on the XYZprinting Professional website. It’s described as a high-resolution 3D printer “designed for work where precision and detail are essential,” and is able to build an object up to 2.8 cm in height in just an hour.
A 25-micron Z-axis resolution is complemented by a wide resin compatibility, with the printer able to process acrylic, castable, and biomedical resins. “With these options, users can experiment, explore and produce the best output of their creations,” the company says.
The CastPro100 xP uses XYZware_Nobel software, which allows for the transmission of files and wireless printing and also lets users create structural supports automatically to guarantee safe and supported overhangs.
The resin 3D printer is being billed as a particularly useful tool for those in the jewelry industry because of its ability to process castable resins that can then be used to make items made from precious metals.
Expect to see the range of new 3D printers at formnext.
